Beginner’s PDR Self Defence Classes
PDR is an open and inclusive self defence system that’s applicable to everyone regardless of age or gender. It applies equally whether you have zero experience or are a proficient martial artist of any style, as it does not replace any skills you already have.
Everyone starts at a Beginners Seminar, indeed many start and stop here as you’ll learn everything you need to know to fully access your current capacity for protection of yourself and those around you. Here’s what you can expect at a Beginners Seminar:
- Dramatically increase your confidence and confrontation management skills.
- We specialize in proven mind-set and fear management strategies.
- All of the skills taught can be used by anyone, regardless of age or gender.
- The program is designed and engineered by martial art pioneer Tony Blauer and is the only self-defence program in the world that has been medically reviewed on 3 continents.
- No prior experience necessary
Weekly PDR Courses
“I now have the skills, tools and confidence to stay safe, it’s a wonderful feeling” – Joanne Buckley
Typically spread over 4 to 6 weeks these sessions are 1 to 2 hours long, and are best for people who like a regular weekly classes. The exact profile of weekly courses varies depending on location and the time of year. See the individual course listings for details. Classes are a mixture of presentations, discussions and practical exercises. Any fitness level is accommodated and nothing is compulsory, so you don’t have to worry about anything.
1 Day PDR Seminars
These fun packed days cover the same material as a weekly course, delivered all in a single day seminar, and are best for those who want to get effective personal protection as soon as possible.
“You never know how much you can do, until you try to do more than you can.” – Tony Blauer
One of the key differences between the SPEAR System as taught at a PDR seminar, and a more traditional martial art like Karate or Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, is that we unlock your current capacity for self defence and do that within hours, rather than waiting 3-5 years for you to achieve a black belt before you decide you’re competent and confident enough to defend yourself.
